Tips for getting the MOST from your Bowling Shirts!

Because our shirts are made of polyester or blended polyester/cotton fabric, it's possible you'll never need to iron them, if you pull them out of the dryer when finished. With my own bowling shirts, I've never had to iron them if I do this. If you do accidentally leave them in the dryer for a while after the cycle, use a low to medium iron setting to press the wrinkles out.

You'll notice that the colors will stay as bright (or dark) like new for a very long time, even through dozens of washings! Our bowling shirts make great 'walking around' shirts, not just at the lanes.

About B-R-S.com

This webstore you're currently taking in began in October 2005, but the story goes back further than that.

The owner, Donald Garber, initially became intrigued with online sales thanks to his lovely bride. She purchased a little ol' Burberry checkbook cover from a thrift store in early 2000 for two dollars. A few months later, she decided she didn't need it, and put it up for sale on eBay. The auction ended and the checkbook cover sold for over $165. This was the catalyst.

For two years, the Garbers visited thrift stores regularly, searching for treasures among the donations. A full-time business began on eBay. Hundreds upon hundreds of parcels were shipped throughout the US and around the world. But sifting through thrift stores, photographing every item, creating individual item auctions took a lot of work.

Donald kept up selling on eBay, and after many niches, decided that men's clothing (casual and not-so-casual) was where his interests lay. For a time, Tommy Bahama and Ralph Lauren were labels he sold exclusively. In 2005, Don partnered up with a manufacturer of beautiful bowling style shirts. These retro shirts were immediate hits on eBay, and for a good year, sales were brisk. Leaving the comfortable, predictable, yet narrow confines of eBay, Don opened up bowling-rockabilly-shirts.com in the cool fall days of 2005.

Don is proud to offer only American-made clothing. In this day and age, it seems that everything is made overseas. The only people who seem to profit from Made In China are the manufacturing company executives, and that's not right. Made in America goods may cost a tad more, but bowling-rockabilly-shirt customers can know that they help American workers earn a living.

What's in the future? "I'd like to expand to cover more retro-themed topics. Sure, buying retro items is cool but nostalgia in general, not just hard goods, is a really fun topic to be involved in."

"My favorite shirt is the Black Shoopster. Love the vertical, asymmetrical striping style. My second favorite is the Retro 60's shirt in dark green. I also have a Retro Atomic shirt in my own closet."

Bowling Shirts have timeless appeal. We've been wearing bowling shirts for decades, and they've never been more popular than now.

Why?

Bowling Shirts are flattering to any body type. Skinny guys and chubby guys alike look masculine and strong wearing a great rockabilly shirt.

Vertical stripe themes help make us look proud and tall.

Bright bold colors coordinate perfectly with neutral base panels. They give our skin and face color and freshness.

Their style pulls our memories back to a less complicated, more pure time in history. Rock and roll, dancing, hot rods, new love.

They're cool.

You're here because:

  • You don't buy crap
  • You want to look good (or you want your man to look good)
  • Online shopping doesn't mean slow shopping
  • You have a personality and you want your clothes to, also.
  • You like to buy American made products when you can.
